2011 fat tire festival–”year of the kid” (July 15-17)

•June 9, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Adventure Subaru and Progressive Trail Design again are proud to present the 2011 Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival, July 15th-17th. This year again promises to be bigger and better than ever. The 2011 Fatty Fest has officially been coined “The Year of the Kid”.  We will be hosting a massive ”Kids Bike Rodeo”. On the slate of activities are skills courses and clinics, barrel races, games, water feature,  food, fun, sun and more.

Again we will kick things off  with the “Phat Tire Bike Shop Short Track” at Achord’s MX track. The new improved course will host all the CAT races plus the Kid’s Race, Costume Single Speed Crit, and team relay. Last year’s races provided the most memorable moments of 2010 “fatness” and this year

won’t disappoint. Everyone will reconvene at Sparky’s restaurant after dark for awards, good food, and good friends.

As always, Saturday will be anchored by our Observed Trials event at Harmon Park and a myriad of non-competitive fun rides including Kid’s Rides” at 10am and 12 noon.  New trails at the Trimble Ranch and the Local Larry’s Loops beckon to be blazed on our guided fun rides.

Friday Night Party @ Sparky's

A few new twists and turns will highlight another year of the “PTD” Downhill. New and revamped features promise agony and defeat on the only DH course in Arkansas. Awards and great food await the winners at Angler’s Grill immediately after the competition. We will return to the Inn of the Ozarks Saturday night  for a pool party and registration.  This venue is super kid friendly and has great parking, a great pavilion and a mini-golf course and amusement area. Bring your trunks and bikini. Don’t forget to reserve your rooms early at the Inn of the Ozarks before they run out.

Funky Pants Dash

We will close everything down Sunday with the TIMEX “Race to the Lake”, the new “Kid Bike Rodeo” and our final awards ceremony at Lake Leatherwood City Park. Waiting at the finish line for all competitors will be a FREE Wisconsin Cheese and Bratfest sponsored by SariS. Subaru will be on site with the new Foresters and Outbacks and plenty of music for everyone. So grab the kids, grab the bikes and get ready to be fatty!
