Short Track Event/Course Description:
  • Event Description: The course is run on a 14 turn MX dirt flat track. This track is kept flat hard and smooth all year. No ruts or breaking bumps. Very hard, very smooth, and very fast. The course will be watered periodically through the evening if dry so traction will be good. It also wears and drains well in wet weather. There will be an open house and time trial Saturday July the 10th at 4pm and Friday day of the race between 3 & 5pm to establish a starting grid Otherwise riders will be lined up in the order in which they are signed up. Riders will be lined up 3 abreast. So for the first lap primes, positioning could be an issue.
  • Course Description: The first lap has a longer start run out, otherwise………100 feet after the start there is a 180 sweeper. After the first 180 corner the course sweeps through several hard corners and then opens up into a passing section through another long 180 corner into another passing section. At the .3 mile mark it dives down the only hill over a hip and over a log drop into a low lying creek bed with a gravel base. Cross Bikes will be challenged by this 150 foot section. Out of the creek bed the course climbs three switch backs and then descends slightly into another short sprint section to the finish line. Course length is .45 miles. Lap times between 1.5 and 2 minutes. Prime bike……..Salsa, dos Niner.
